dear sir
I would like to ask you about the recent and most recommended intra canal medication that should be used between root canal visits, for:
1.vital tooth with pathological exposure.
2.non vital tooth with periapical lesion.
3.retreatment of failed root canal.
4.can not obtained dry canal.
I heard that there is intra canal antibiotic medication could you please give the names of these products? and it's rules?
and should these medications used instead of calcium hydroxide?

I avoid this problem by doing just about all endo (unless I cannot find the canals) in one visit. This eliminates the need for medications.
The only medications you want are the ones that are antibacterial. That is the problem. If you must do the RCT in more than one visit, Calcium Hydroxide is as good as any other.

Firas,
There is nothing new that I am aware of for interappointment medication.
YOu could use
1-Calcium Hydroxide
2-Formocreosol
3-2% Chlorhexidine
4-MTAD-
Not much else out there that is antibacterial for in the canal.

hi again
you mentioned that we can use MTAD.
I read article about the usage of MTAD that we should put it inside the canal for 20 min with 1.3 naocl and then MTAD for 5 min.
So this is 25 min, I think it's time consuming do agree with me? or thereis alternative application for MTAD???

you mentioned also 2% Chlorhexidine, I know that Chlorhexidine could be use as irrigant solution, can we use it as intracanal medication between visits???

I want to pay your attention about product named Grinazole from Septodont, it contain metronidazole, they said that we can use it instead of Calcium Hydoxide if there is resistance and we can not obtain dry canal?
what do you say about that??

thank you

Firas, I do not know too much about Grinazole so I cannot answer your question.
Why don't you treat these cases in one visit. It would eliminate your problem about medications in between appointments. See the articles section and search for the articles on One Visit RCT.
